A Uniontown woman died and three others were injured Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in a residential area of Pittsburgh, police said.
The crash occurred about noon in the 1200 block of Shady Avenue straddling the Squirrel Hill and Point Breeze neighborhoods, according to Pittsburgh police.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim as 30-year-old Angelica Fields.
Police said a car with four occupants — including Ms. Fields — lost control and swerved into the opposite lane, striking another vehicle.
All four people in the car that lost control were injured, and emergency responders had to extricate two of them from the vehicle, police said.
Ms. Fields was taken to UPMC Presbyterian where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The three other people in the car — two men and a woman — were taken to hospitals in stable condition, according to police.
Police said the driver and lone occupant of the other vehicle was not hurt.
The crash closed Shady Avenue from Hastings Street to Fifth Avenue.
