71-Year-Old Woman Hurt in 2-Vehicle Collision on West Market Street
Pottsville, Pennsylvania (January 22, 2018) — A 71-year-old St. Clair woman was injured following a two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon in Pottsville, According to a Pottsville police report.
The accident took place at around 12:10 p.m. Friday, January 19, in the 2100 block of West Market Street, in the area of Gramma’s Restaurant in Pottsville.
Authorities stated that a 2013 Buick Verano, operated by the St. Clair woman, was traveling west on Market Street and as it approached the restaurant, a Hyundai Accent, driven by 68-year-old Susan Guers’ action, of Shenandoah, backed into the westbound lane of travel to park when the two cars collided.
The Saint Clair woman suffered minor injury but declined medical attention at the site and was then transported by Schuylkill EMS to a local medical facility for treatment, authorities said.
The report said that the Hyundai sustained moderate damage while the Buick was mangled.
Guers was charged with limitations on backing under the state Vehicle Code, as per the report.
