Richard Baurle Identified as Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Route 19 in Peters Township

Peters Township, Pennsylvania (February 22, 2018) – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Monday night in Peters Township has been identified as Richard Bryan Baurle, according to authorities.

The 45-year-old North Strabane man died in the crash that happened at around 7:50 p.m. Monday, February 19, on Route 19 in the 4100 block of Washington Road.

Police said Baurle was walking south lane of Route 19 when he was knocked down by a sport-utility vehicle.

Baurle was rushed to Canonsburg Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased shortly before 9 p.m.

Peters Township Police are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
