Officer and 2 Injured in Philadelphia Car Accident on West Fisher Avenue
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (September 19, 2018) – An officer and two other people were injured Tuesday evening in a traffic accident in Philadelphia, police said.
The collision happened on Tuesday, September 18 on West Fisher Avenue.
According to a local news source, the incident started when police pulled over the suspect, who was operating a Camaro on West Fisher Avenue for alleged reckless driving. when a responding officer attempted to get the driver’s paperwork, he sped away and dragged the officer ten feet.
The driver then crashed into an SUV before crashing into a parked car.
A man and a woman inside the SUV both sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The officer who was dragged was suffered minor injuries.
Police said the driver of the Camaro fled the scene because he realised he had a suspended license and no insurance.
The driver was later arrested. His name has not yet been released, but he will face several assault charges, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
