Peters Township, Pennsylvania (February 20, 2018) – A pedestrian was fatally injured in an accident where he was struck by a vehicle on Monday night in Peters Township, according to authorities.

The crash took place at around 7:50 p.m. Monday, February 19, on Route 19 in the 4100 block of Washington Road.

It’s unclear how the pedestrian was knocked down by an SUV.

The pedestrian was rushed to Canonsburg Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased shortly before 9 p.m.

The victim was not identified pending notification of the next of kin.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
