Michael Bailey Killed, 1 Other Hospitalized after Kiskiminetas Township Two-Vehicle Crash on State Route 56
Spring Church, Pennsylvania (September 21, 2018) – A person was killed, and another was injured Wednesday morning in a two-truck collision in Kiskiminetas Township, according to a local news source.
The collision happened at about 8:45 a.m. September 19, on State Route 56.
As per the article, a truck loaded with coal was traveling southbound on Route 56 while a dump truck belonging to Cutting Edge Lawn Care & Landscaping of Allegheny Township in Westmoreland County, was heading northbound on Route 56.
The dump truck then turned left onto the Lutheran Church Road and was hit by the coal truck.
The Armstrong County Deputy Coroner said 35-year-old Michael Shane Bailey, of Vandergrift in Westmoreland County, was killed in the crash.
The dump truck driver was transported to a Pittsburgh-area hospital. The identity of the victim was not immediately disclosed.
Route 56 was closed for several hours.
The Kiskiminetas Township police and state police reconstruction unit is investigating the crash.
