Mary Cook Hit and Killed by Vehicle on Wattsburg Road in Millcreek

Millcreek Township, Pennsylvania (September 20, 2018) – The woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Millcreek Township on Tuesday night has been identified by the Erie County Coroner as Mary Svetz Cook, 72, of Corry.

According to the Millcreek Township Police Department, the accident happened at around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, September 18 in the 5500 block of Wattsburg Road.

Police said Cook was crossing the street to get a mail when she was struck by a silver 2010 Subaru Outback driven northbound on Wattsburg Road by Jane Blank, 70, of Waterford.

Cook was pronounced deceased at the scene. The coroner said Cook died of blunt force trauma and her death was ruled accidental.

Blank was not injured and remained at the scene of the crash.

The police are conducting an investigation into the accident.
