Galina Ribnicky Hurt in Maxatawny Township Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 222 near Kutztown
Maxatawny Township, Pennsylvania (August 28, 2018) – An Allentown woman was injured Thursday night in a traffic accident near Kutztown, according to the police.
The crash happened at about 11:22 p.m. August 23, on Route 222.
Police said Galina Ribnicky, 72, was driving a compact SUV southwest when her car sideswiped an oncoming vehicle, as she attempted to pass another car.
The impact caused Ribnicky’s car to run into an air conditioner on the east wall of a house in the 15630 block of Kutztown Road. The second car, a larger SUV, driven by 63-year-old Kim J. Bixler, of Longswamp Township in Berks County, struck a guardrail on the other side of the road.
Ribnicky sustained minor injuries and was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. She was then arrested for careless driving.
Bixler was uninjured in the crash.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
