Emiliano Alvarez-Roman Dies after Reading Pedestrian Accident on Walnut Street
Reading, Pennsylvania (September 20, 2018) – A pedestrian who was hospitalized after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Reading on Tuesday morning has succumbed to his injuries, according to the Berks County coroner’s office.
The accident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 18 in the 800 block of Walnut Street.
Police said Emiliano Alvarez-Roman, 58, of Reading was hit by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Walnut Street. The driver failed to stop at the scene.
Alvarez-Roman was transported by ambulance to Reading Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:04 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19.
The authorities are conducting an investigation into the crash.
