Diane Kent, 60, Killed, Stephen Kent, 55, Aaron Morrison, 28, Injured in Union County Collision on Route 15
White Deer Township, Pennsylvania (January 22, 2018) — The person who was killed in a fiery two-vehicle collision in White Deer Township, Union County Sunday afternoon has been identified as a 60-year-old Diane Kent, of Coal Township, according to state police.
The fatal crash took place at around 2:22 p.m. Sunday, January 22, along Route 15 northbound in White Deer Township, Union County, just south of Fisher’s Trailer Court between the Watsontown and Allenwood exits.
According to a preliminary investigation report, Aaron Morrison, 28, of Williamsport, was driving a car northbound on Route 15 when he struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Stephen Kent, 55, of Coal Township.
The impact caused Morrison’s vehicle to roll, and Kent’s car caught fire, police said.
Diane Kent, a passenger in Kent’s car, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Union County coroner, as per the report.
Stephen Kent was flown to Geisinger and later transported to the Lehigh Valley Burn Unit while Morrison was taken to Geisinger Medical Center by an ambulance.
Police said all the three victims were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
An investigation into the deadly crash is still ongoing.
