Pittston Woman Margaret Milewski Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 315
Pittston, Pennsylvania (January 25, 2018) – One of the passengers riding in the Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance involved in a head-on collision on Thursday died of her injuries, according to authorities.
Margaret Josephine Milewski, 87, of Pittston, was being transported to a hospital in the ambulance when the crash occurred on Route 315 near the border of Laflin and Jenkins Township on Thursday, January 18.
Police said Lawrence Vanburen-Morgan, 29, of Nanticoke was driving a 2007 Toyota Sienna northbound on Route 315 when he traveled across two yellow lines and collided head-on with the ambulance
Milewski suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead on Monday evening in a Susquehanna County hospital.
Two personnel riding in the ambulance, Paramedic Emmett Thomas, 50, of Kingston and driver Michael Ankenband, 34, of Shavertown, were both treated at a hospital and released.
The crash remains under investigation.
