36-year-old Jason Filip Dies in Hit-And-Run Collision on Sans Souci Parkway
Hanover Township, Pennsylvania (February 27, 2018) – The pedestrian who was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday morning in Hanover Township has been identified by the Luzerne County Coroner’s Office.
The body of Jason Filip, 36, of Hanover Township, was found at around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, February 25, along the Sans Souci Parkway across from the UFCW Federal Credit Union in Hanover Township.
According to police, Filip was struck by an SUV, believed to be a 2002-2005 White Ford Explorer.
A woman is said to have approached the township police department on Sunday and is believed to have been involved in the crash. Her 2002 Ford Explorer was impounded at the station.
The crash remains under investigation.
