Christian Lamana, Nicholas Griel, Rachel Griel ID’d as Three Injured in Patton Township Car Crash on Interstate 99
Patton Township, Pennsylvania (August 6, 2018) – The three people who were injured Thursday morning in a four-vehicle collision in Patton Township have been identified as Christian L. Lamana, 25, of Milroy, Rachel A. Griel, 49 and Nicholas J. Griel, 19, both of State College, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at around 8:53 a.m. Thursday, August 2 on Interstate 99.
According to police, James E. Bentz, 60, of Tampa, Florida, was driving a 2016 Volvo 1SX15 at a rate of speed more than posted 55 mph speed limit when he failed to observe slowing traffic in the construction zone and crashed into a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by Lamana, 25, of Milroy.
The Mitsubishi then slammed into a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Rachel Griel. The impact caused the Hyundai to lost control and hit a 2005 Cadillac CTS driven by Leonard Wysocki, 50, of Bellefonte.
All vehicles stopped after traveling off the east side of the road.
Lamana, Rachel Griel and his passenger, Nicholas Griel were transported by ground ambulance to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
All drivers and their passengers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Bentz was a later charged.
The crash remains under investigation.
