Whenever a doctor enters a medical school, he is taught to prescribe medicines and perform surgeries on his or her patients instead of tutoring them with preventive measures.

Unnecessary SurgeriesWhenever you pay a visit to a doctor, always expect a hefty blow to your pocket and intake of numerous medicines. The surgeons these days have adopted a new money making strategy. Along with medication, they want to carry out unnecessary surgeries on their patients just to earn a few extra bucks.

Instead of educating people about the hazardous effects of surgery, they encourage them to go for a surgery as they can’t say no to money. Here is a list of harmful surgeries that doctors are very keen on performing these days. Have a look and save yourself or someone you love from going the wrong way.

Thyroid Surgery for Hyperthyroidism:

Complete or partial removal of your thyroid gland can lead to permanent hypothyroidism and an increased dependency on thyroid hormones. It is better to consider all other possible options like a healthy organic diet, a magnesium supplement or a thyroid support formula before actually going for the surgery.

Bariatric Surgery:

Obesity has been termed as a disease and more and more people are going towards this easier way of getting into shape, without realizing its harmful effects on their health. For people who have not actually crossed the line of obesity, it is better to go with a healthy diet or supplements to lose a few pounds.

Hysterectomy is for patients’ who have gynecological conditions like uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and hyperplasia. These conditions can easily be controlled with a healthy diet and a few supplements. Surgery should be considered as a final resort.

Back Surgery:

If your doctor is asking you to go for a surgery then ask him that for a herniated disc or other such complications you want to go for physical therapy first. Chiropractic care, acupuncture massage, a healthy diet or even supplements may help you in healing and save you from going under the knife.

Cesarean Section:

These days’ women choose C-Section just to avoid the pain of vaginal delivery. Surgeons fail to (or probably don’t want to) educate them about the side effects of having a C-Section. A child who is not born through the vaginal tract is more exposed to the environmental and food allergies.

Pacemaker Surgery:

Always consider a second opinion before going for a pacemaker surgery. It is reported that 1/3 of such surgeries are unnecessary as the underlying problem can be treated with medication. Moreover, a pacemaker only lasts for 8-10 years so one has to expect another trip to the hospital sooner or later.

Preventative Mastectomy:

Breast cancer is getting very common these days making women highly conscious about it. A variety of environmental factors may cause it including chronic exposure to pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. It can also be caused by some sort of genetic mutation. If your doctor says that you are at a higher risk of exposure to breast cancer and need preventative mastectomy then it’s better to leave him and go to someone that will help you in taking more effective preventative measures without deforming your body.
