One Injured in Upper Macungie Car Crash on Interstate 78
Upper Macungie Township, Pennsylvania (January 23, 2018) – One person was extracted and transported to a hospital after a crash between two vehicles on Tuesday afternoon in Upper Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The accident occurred shortly after noon on Interstate 78 westbound.
Police said a vehicle traveling westbound on I-78 stopped in the far-left lane due to traffic. The driver of a second vehicle traveling behind the first vehicle failed to notice the stopped vehicle and as it swerved to the right to avoid a collision, it ended up striking the rear tires of the first vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle was extracted and transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Cedar Crest with wrist, ribs, back and neck injuries. Her condition was said to be stable.
The driver of the first vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
